The Declaration of Independence says that an inalienable right for Americans is the pursuit of happiness. It’s loosely meant as having our needs satisfied and being positive. Is this true today? Disruptive leadership creates happiness.
The pioneering spirit of our ancestors is much alive. We are continually searching for the next great thing. We have to get out of our comfort zone and shake up the status quo to make things happen. That’s disruption. Disruptive leadership creates happiness.
Too many leaders do so by consensus and that creates confusion. They continue the status quo allowing poor performers to stay. This drags everyone down, including themselves. This is an inward-looking mentality and average leadership at best. Look closely at areas where you are tolerating “average” and identify how you can disrupt that.
