The saying, “What doesn’t kill you outright makes you stronger” was told to me early on in my career. Initially, I thought how brutal that seemed. Since then, I’ve remembered this many times in my life during very challenging situations.
Leading through adversity is not new to our country. George Washington was a general in the Continental Army in the American Revolution. Abraham Lincoln led our country during the Civil War and began reunification prior to his assassination. And other presidents have led through incredible, almost insurmountable, challenges.
